Assessment

Below is some evidence used to decide next learning steps and measure progress.

This reading assessment was done with support and guidance from Marina to assess some target children who were not making progress with literacy.  This was to implement MLS - The code teaching programme with them.

Grow Waitaha Workshops

Over the year Dawn, Steph and myself attended the Grow Waitaha Leadership Incubator.  This was valuable learning about cultural responsiveness, building leadership capabilities and questioning our own leadership model.

Some of the things to come out of this were:

  • having a shared/collaborative office space - Dawn, Steph and I
  • Developing doc/templates to share ideas/systems (within ourselves and school wide)
  • development of calm room and its structures
  • sharing the load/understanding of children in need

MATHS PD

COLLABORATIVE MANAGEMENT MODEL

COLLABORATIVE MANAGEMENT MODEL

As part of our Grow Waitaha professional learning is to be positive examples of a collaborative management team.  This is to lead by example.
To do this we have:

  • A weekly senior management meeting
  • A shared timetable
  • A shared working space - all in one office
This has been really beneficial during term 3 while Jason has been on sabbatical.  This has been a good support for Steph and I as we learn new aspects of the DP role.  We feel that there has been greater discussion about areas of concern, and greater shared responsibility of at risk students.
